This special offer gives you exclusive use of the 40" telescope and all other telescopes on site for each evening during your stay and includes a Guided tour of the Siding Spring Observatory.

About the Telescopes...

The '40 inch' (1.04 meter diameter) telescope is the cornerstone of this all new facility, giving you unprecedented views of Galaxies, Star Clusters, Nebulae and the like. The 40" is fitted with dual filter wheels off axis guider and so on but also carries wider field telescopes in the form of Refractors and an 8" R/C reflector offering high levels of adaptability for Astrophotography and viewing.

Additionally there four other Big Dobsonian telescopes up to 20 inches (40cm) in diameter on site for just sweeping out huge areas of deep sky and soaking in the stars!
Bring your own Camera and even your own Astrophoto Scope set up to 'piggyback' on the 40", fitting is via standard 'Losmandy Dove-tail' mounts. We carry T'Rings and filter sets for Canon EOS and Nikon DSLR types... 

Narrow Band (Black and white for colour Mixing) QSI cooled cameras are on hand if you don't have your own, to take extra Hi resolution images. QSI cameras are equipped with full Astronomik brand Filter sets. Please call us for details.

About the Homestead...

Milroy Homestead boasts a luxurious self-contained 6 bedroom 4 bathroom house and can accommodate up to 12 guests, complete with swimming pool and tennis court
A spacious open plan living area with cathedral ceilings captures the serene country views from within the homestead. The large gourmet kitchen includes European appliances and a separate dining room seating up to 12 people. This is a self-catered package.
A short walk away is the Milroy Observatory set against the stunning backdrop of the rocky escarpments of the surrounding hills and astonishingly beautiful views.
